Leche Y Miel

There is a place somewhat hidden in the rural regions of Nicaragua. A modest coffee farm on land with vast growth potential. The soil is rich and the air is soothing. When you close your eyes and inhale deeply you almost feel transported, but there is no time for that. You have work to do. There are fields to tend, repairs to make, and vendor orders to fill.

These days of the year offer a bit more sunlight, but other than that, the earth gives man no favors. Through your toil you can secure the sustenance to live, but you will labor for what you grow. These grounds offer no microwavable meals from Trader Joe’s or the instant gratification through the social media notifications you’ve become accustomed to. These grounds offer a pathway to the Most High: it will keep you alive, standing upright, and it’s where you’re destined to take your final resting place.

This is the land that has been promised to you. It was written you would find this place after wandering through the wilderness. After avoiding your calling, you committed to organize yourself and your tribe around an aim. That aim required sacrifice, created conflict, and made you question the earth you stand on.

But now you’re here at la tierra de leche y miel.
